Transformation Challenge Memory

I was reminiscing today and decided to take a trip back in time for today’s post. In early 2015 a friend asked me to co-coach 6 week Body Transformation Challenges that would be in our local paper. This paper “The Mountain Times” is THE newspaper in this area.

Needless to say I was flattered and excited. Together we ran these 6 week training groups for 6 people. Weekly the current group would be featured on a double page spread. I was amazed by how many people followed it. And, the success was incredible. Being in the public eye of a small community is a motivator that only someone who has experienced small townlife can truly appreciate!

Each week we (the coaches) would write a section called the Coach’s Corner. This is the one I wrote for the last week of our early summer group in 2015.

It makes me feel nostalgic and accomplished to remember writing these words. And not much has changed…I would write similar words today!

As we end our 6 weeks of training the public accountability lessens and the apprehension of continuing on their own sets in on the challenge group. Moving into this last week, I would like to offer some advice to all the participants to help keep their momentum going. The power of the mind combined with motivation and confidence are the keys to staying on track.

Identifying motivators is the first step. At this point you should be able to name 3 or 4 things that keep you motivated. For example, starting the day with a breakfast containing the perfect ratio of macro nutrients may help keep the nutrition plan on track. Getting an early morning workout in may be the way to jump start your day. Working out with a friend or in a group exercise setting may be the accountability check needed to stay on track. Identify your top 3–4 factors that will enable your new lifestyle easily.

Confidence is a crucial component as well. Focus on what you can do instead of any fears that may be holding you back from achieving more. Push out of your comfort zone regularly. Each time you succeed your confidence will be boosted for the next challenge. If you do happen to fail, learn from the experience, let it go and try something else. Never stop trying.

Most important is mental toughness. The power of positive thinking is often underestimated. The law of attraction will return positive results if you emit a positive attitude. Your confidence will grow with every achievement. The negative energy won’t have a chance. Continue on this successful journey by focusing on the positive and pushing yourself to be better every day. The power of mental toughness is exactly what you need to keep up your motivation and boost your confidence.
